Pragmatic Philosophy

The core idea of a Pragmatic approach is to adopt the simplest solution that works well now and does not hinders realistic future plans.

The Pragmatic Data Platform aims to provide enterprise level solutions to common needs by starting simple and having planned ways to easily and naturally extended the solution to fulfill new requirements, adding the extra complexity only when it is really needed.

We believe that, while it works well, less is more and that any extra tool, pattern, layer or bit of complexity should be added only if really needed or if it provides so much value to offset the cost of the added complexity.

We keep the infrastructure and governance complexity to a minimum while providing a flexible platform that works well in enterprise settings with dozens of projects and many teams and units, presenting ways to extend this core setup to tackle more complex needs.

We adopt a data architecture that is very simple to get started with, that naturally adopts a modular domain driven approach and that can easily evolve into a soft mesh or even a full-fledged data mesh.

The overall goal of the Pragmatic Data Platform is to allow your teams to go “from art to industry”: developing with less improvisation, more best practices and uniform ways of working.
